1.PopUpCop is shareware -- can I go ahead and use it without paying for it?
Yes, it's shareware. That is, you can download it and use it without paying... for awhile. It expires (refuses to run) after thirty days. Long before thirty days have elapsed, though, you will have found it indispensable and the minimal license fee will feel like a bargain!

2.Does PopUpCop "phone home"?
Sometimes "free" software contains hidden functions that collect marketing data. PopUpCop does not collect, store, or transmit marketing data. For complete details on PopUpCop and your privacy, please read the EdenSoft privacy policy.

6.Why is PopUpCop not accepting my registration code?
Your registration code for PopUpCop contains both capital letters and numbers. It is easy to confuse some letters and numbers in the code. In particular, the letter "O" and the number "0" can be difficult to distinguish. Also, the number "1" can look like the lower-case letter "l" or the upper-case letter "I".

Also, when copying and pasting your name and code into the registration dialog, it is very easy to paste extra spaces either before or after your name or code. Unfortunately, older versions of PopUpCop (before version 1.2) will not accept the combination if there are leading or trailing spaces in either your name or the code. This program bug was corrected in version 1.2.

Finally, if the system date on your computer is incorrect, PopUpCop might not accept your name and code. Please verify that the system date on your computer is set to the correct date.

If you are still having problems entering your registration code, write us at customer-service@popupcop.com. We will gladly provide you further assistance.

8. Does PopUpCop handle cookies?
Yes; it can enable and disable them. However, it is no substitute for a robust cookie management tool. Cookies are more a privacy issue than an annoyance issue. Specialized tools are available elsewhere for privacy and security concerns.

9.My stockbroker's web site has lots of servers with different names. Must I list them all in the Allow List?
No! You can use a pattern. For example, instead of entering oneserver.mystockbroker.com or anotherserver.mystockbroker.com you can enter *.mystockbroker.com

View Advanced Options enables you to be more specific about the various servers at a web site.

10.Can't I do all these things in Internet Explorer's Internet Options? Why do I need PopUpCop?
PopUpCop does duplicate some of the configuration features of Internet Explorer (IE). However, it provides a much friendlier user interface for frequently-used features. For example, if you have a dial-up connection and would like to turn images off so that pages load faster, install PopUpCop's Images On/Off button on your toolbar. You'll find it much more convenient to click this button than to click down through IE's layers of dialog boxes.

PopUpCop and IE communicate with each other. Changing a setting in either changes it in both.

PopUpCop also provides some features that IE's Internet Options don't, most notably popup prevention. The more you surf the web, the more you'll find that PopUpCop provides an indispensable improvement to your web experience.
